TRITONS BOD ELECTION AND SURVEY
Tritons Families,
We are fortunate to have three excellent new candidates for our board of directors: Amy Lasut, Lisa Broadhead and Bryan Kelley. We plan to fill three vacancies but your vote is still necessary to achieve a representative quorum. You may review statements regarding each candidate's willingness to serve at the end of this email. Each member family is eligible to vote one time for up to three candidates
Please help the team by doing one of the following:
1) Follow this link to complete our survey and make your board of directors selections: Tritons Survey and BoD Election
Note: If you've already completed the survey you can still access it and add your vote!
2) Send an email with up to three selections to [email protected]
3) Submit a paper ballot at our membership meeting to be held at the Laurel Hill Community Clubhouse at 7PM on the 17th of September.
Thank you for supporting the Tritons!
Please see our prospective board member statements below:
Hi,
I am interested in filling one of the open Board of Directors positions for next season. My family has been part of the Tritons team for over a decade, and it was because of this team that our two daughters discovered their passion for the competitive sport of swimming! So, this team is very meaningful to us.
In support of the team, my husband and I have consistently volunteered in various roles/jobs over the years, including personally working as the Tritons' volunteer coordinator (3 years). In this role I have gotten to know many families and have also been inspired by all of their support and dedication to the team.
N. VA is very transient, and with people constantly coming and going, in many ways it still does not feel like home despite having lived here for over 20 years. However, this swim community gives us a feeling of home and belonging, and it has been rewarding and fulfilling to be part of it, to see so many young swimmers grow into amazing young adults with the support of the team around them.
To help continue many of the Tritons' traditions for current and new families and to help grow the team to make it even stronger, I welcome the opportunity to serve through membership on its Board of Directors.
Thank you,
Amy Lasut
----------
I have two kids who joined the Tritons for the first time this past summer. I am hoping to help with strategic planning for the team as it moves forward to help improve the experience for all.
My experience with swimming did not start when my kids joined the Tritons. I was a swimmer myself through College, competed with a few different Masters teams, and I have coached a variety of swim teams over the years.
I have retired from competitive swimming and coaching, but am enjoying the parent side of things now!
Thank you,
Lisa Broadhead
----------
I am writing to express my interest and willingness to serve on the Laurel Hill Tritons Board of Directors. As the parent of two young swimmers in the club, I am personally invested in the Tritons' continued success and would welcome the opportunity to support the club that contributes so much to the growth, confidence, and development of its athletes.
I bring more than 20 years of military, aviation, and corporate leadership experience. Throughout my career, I have led diverse teams, managed complex operations, and worked with stakeholders to achieve shared objectives. These experiences have strengthened my ability to build consensus, communicate transparently, develop practical strategies, and make thoughtful decisions focused on organizational goals. I believe these skills would translate well to serving the Tritons and supporting its swimmers, families, coaches, volunteers, and other members of the board.
If selected, I would approach this responsibility with a growth mindset, collaborative spirit, and commitment to good governance. I would work to understand different perspectives, support open and respectful communication, and help the board develop strategies that promote long-term team health while preserving a positive experience for every swimmer.
Thank you for considering my interest in serving. It would be an honor to contribute my leadership experience, professional perspective, and commitment as a Tritons parent to the Board of Directors.
Respectfully,
Bryan J. Kelley
